Mailchimp has deleted the tinyletter archive containing the previous 58 letters that make up the Disturbing Words project (2016—). I’m adding the final run to my archive here, starting in reverse with “ends” from 2023 and jumping back to 2017 with “waste” at a friend’s request – let me know if you have a missing fave and I’ll upload it!

I’m also recording audio versions of the letters from “deep” onwards, available on Soundcloud.

Some earlier letters have been published elsewhere:

“entartete” formed the basis of A Nazi Word for A Nazi Thing (Peninsula Press, 2020)
“ghost,” “oestro,” “index” (as “diable”), and “zeus” in Truth & Dare (Cipher Press, 2023)
“denim,” Wasafiri 33.1 (2018)
“ivy,” Lunate 3 (2023)
“rest,” Soundings 71 (2019)
“zealand,” Chicago Reader #MeToo portfolio (2017)
